GREEN RIVER SWIMMING HOLES

Overview

Dipping into the cool, clean, and clear water of the Green River in the hot summer months so refreshing. Most of the swimming holes require a bit of a hike, but they are all worth the effort. Please remember the Green River is a dam released river and it is only recommended to swim in these spots when the river is off, and the current is much much slower. Please be award of strong currents and hazards in the river.

The Narrows
The Narrows is a more remote and rugged area known for its fast-moving water and deep pools. It is a favorite spot for more experienced adventurers who enjoy swimming in natural, unspoiled environments. DO NOT attempted to swim when the river is running. This is a fast moving section of river.

Hammer Factor
The Hammer Factor swimming hole is another great spot for when the river is off. You can access it from Fish Top Access. The trail is on river right.

Green River Cove Trail
There are several great swimming holes along the lower green (which is a calmer section of river) as you walk along Green River Cove trail. Anticipate a 4-5 mile round trip hike if you plan to walk until it starts heading into the gorge.
